Jackson, KY (October 9, 2023)—Dr. Aaron Johnson, DO, an internal medicine specialist with nearly 20 years of emergency care experience, has joined Kentucky River Clinics.
Dr. Johnson provides primary care for the whole family with a focus on preventive care, treating everyday illnesses, and managing chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
“You might recognize Dr. Johnson from his years of service in Kentucky River Medical Center’s emergency room,” said Susie Morgan, RN, MSN, CEO of Kentucky River Medical Center. “We are delighted to have him provide care to our community in this new capacity. His dedication to patient care and experience managing various medical conditions align perfectly with the community’s growing needs.”
He is currently accepting new patients who need to find a family doctor to help identify health issues before they become more concerning. “I believe that open communication is vital to understanding each patient’s unique health situation,” said Dr. Johnson. “I am committed to working with patients to help them achieve their best health.”

Dr. Johnson received his medical degree from Pikeville College’s School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Norton Community Hospital.
In addition to his dedication to patient care, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time with his family on their farm and attending sporting events to support his children. He, his wife, Lauren, and their three children call Breathitt County their home.
